The origin

It wasn't just a collections problem. It was a finance problem.

When we started talking to founders through our consulting work at Sigma Source, the first thing they mentioned was overdue invoices. But the more we listened, the bigger the picture got.

It wasn't just that nobody was chasing payments. It was that most startup founders had no one building their financial models, no one preparing analytics for the board or investors, no one tracking the metrics that actually matter — DSO, cash runway, revenue concentration, payment behavior. No internal finance team. No CFO. No one to connect the dots — just a founder carrying the entire financial operation alone, with too many open questions and not enough answers.

That's the gap Fynnix is built to close. We're starting with AR and collections — because that's where cash is being lost first. But the vision is bigger: to give every founder the financial intelligence they deserve, without needing a full finance team to get it.

We are starting with accounts receivable and revenue recovery. But the long-term vision is to build the operating layer that modern finance teams rely on — replacing the need for multiple tools, spreadsheets, and dedicated analysts.

How two Stefans ended up building a finance company

We first worked together at a startup — one of us running finance, the other running operations and sales. Different roles, same frustration: the financial side of the business was always a mess. Invoices were everywhere. Nobody knew what was actually overdue. Cash flow projections lived in a spreadsheet that was always two weeks out of date.

After that, we started a consulting company called Sigma Source, working with startups and SMEs across different industries. And we kept seeing the same pattern — over and over again. Most startup founders don't have an internal finance team. They don't have someone to do the financial modelling, build the BI dashboards, or chase the overdue invoices. So they do it themselves, badly, at midnight, in between everything else they're trying to build.

The funny part? When we decided to build the solution, we both showed up with the same name for it. Two Stefans, one product, zero disagreements on the name. Fynnix was born.

What founders told us

We talked. They opened up.

Before we wrote a single line of code, we spent months in conversations with founders. Collections was just the starting point — what we heard was a much deeper problem. Most startup founders have no internal finance team, no one to build analytics, no one to prepare investor reporting, and no one to give them a clear view of their own business. They are flying blind. We are building Fynnix to solve all of that.

We have a collections agent just for following up on late invoices. It costs $2,000 a month. Most of what she does is send emails.
